Location

Gather is located at 39-41 Surrey Street, BN1 3PB, in front of Brighton train station.

Getting here

By train or bus

We are right outside the train station, and buses are widely available to Brighton Station.

By car

Parking is available close-by at the back of Brighton Station, or on various residential streets in the area (mainly towards Seven Dials).

There are double yellow lines in front of Gather where blue badge holders can park for up to three hours.

Space dimensions

Our small studio is 4m by 6m.

The doors on entry and into the bathroom are 80cm wide.

Wheelchair accessibility

There is a dropped curb outside the venue. There are no steps into or in the building. There is a 3cm raised edge at the bottom of the front door.

The bathroom is large, with an accessibility rail to the right of the toilet as you are facing it, a low sink, and emergency cord. There is also a changing places toilet located 1 minute from the venue in Brighton Station.

Wheelchair storage is available in the small back room, behind the studio. The studio/treatment room is large and spacious. Speak to the relevant practitioner about any help needed getting up and down from the treatment bed or floor, or about bringing a carer with you.

For group classes, it is usually worth speaking to the teacher before or at the beginning of class about any access needs. For most classes adaptations can be offered for a wide range of disabilities, including wheelchair users or limited mobility. See also the bottom of Classes Pages.

Affordability

Concession Prices

As a non profit all the money we make goes into keeping Gather open, paying teachers fairly, and strengthening our community wellbeing. Buying a pack of 10 yoga classes offers the most affordable price and we have concession rates available.

For concession rates, use discount code CONC for single classes, and CONC10 for blocks of 10.

Typically this price is for students, people on means tested benefits, and people with no recourse to public funds. This reduced price may also be right other people, for example, if you are disabled, on a low income, or a single parent. No proof required, we trust you to assess your own means and pay according to your resources (housing, income, financial support etc).

Space Rental

Gather works with groups and individual practitioners serving community wellbeing. We aim to keep our prices fair and affordable.

We also allocate 4 free hours of use of the space per month for groups who might otherwise struggle to access the space. You can contact us directly at gatherbtn@gmail.com to enquire about this

Facilities

Baby change

We have a baby change table available, as well as a play mat, and toys.

The baby change table is foldable and can be moved into the backroom to keep the bathroom clear for wheelchairs. If you need help moving the table, please ask.

Chairs

Our folding chairs are large and reinforced. Width: 51cm. Depth: 52cm. Weight Capacity: 204kgs

Massage bed

The treatment table is 185cm long, or 210cm including the headrest. The bed is 69cm wide, and holds 205kg.

Hygiene and sickness

Gather is cleaned regularly and all staff have good hygiene practices. We use a Blueair purifier, and you can ask the teacher or therapist if you would like it to be on during your visit. Where weather possible the space will be ventilated by open windows.

Our policies ask people to stay home if they are unwell to avoid spreading any illness. Gather is a mask-positive space and you are welcome to wear a face covering. In 1-on-1 therapies you can ask your therapist to wear a mask too.
